Abstract
8). ELDIA MAY YORA 1514201008 ABSTRACT Impotence is a child who has a level of intelligence or intellectual level below the average caused by hereditary factors, so it has obstacles in the inability to adapt socially. Based on the results of the field survey at the Al-Azra’iyah Tabek Panjang Extraordinary School in Payakumbuh Subdistrict, the students in the school experienced obstacles in social adaptation. This study aims to determine the effect of Lego (Block) play therapy on social adaptability in mentally disabled children in Al-Azra'iyah SLB. This study uses a quasi-experimental method with a pre-post-test one group design approach. The population in this study 30 people and a sample of 12 children with intellectual disabilities at the primary school level using probability sampling design with simple random sampling technique. The research instrument used observation sheets of children's social adaptability measured before and after the intervention and analyzed using the t-dependent test. The results showed that before the intervention the average level of children's social adaptability was 41.38% (unfavorable) and after the intervention increased to 69.99% (good enough). The results of statistical analysis show that there is an influence on the average level of social adaptability of children with mental disability between before and after the intervention with an average difference of 28.61% and p = 0,000. The application of Lego (Block) play therapy has a significant effect on increasing the social adaptability of children with intellectual disabilities.
