Abstract

Diabetes Melitus is a disease with high levels of sugar in a person’s blood. Blood glucose concentration is very important if it is high enough. In normal circumstances blood glucose is regulated in such a way by insulin, so that the situation is always with in normal limits. In diabetes melitus, the body is relatively deficient in insulin so that the regulation of blood glucose levels increases. The existence of damage due to insulin secretion and insulin action, called hyperglycemia, is the cause of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of blood glucose levels type 2 Diabetes Melitus Patients in the laboratory of dr. Rasidin Padang in January-July 2020. This type of research is analytic observasional with cross section, where the sample in this study were patients who were taken randomly (Random Sampling). The method of examining blood glucose using the Rapid Test Method. The results of this study were obtained the most at levels ≥200-300 mg/dl namely 18 patients (60%) moderate at levels ≥100-199 mg/dl namely patients (23%) and the least results at levels ≥301-400 mg/dl namely 5 patients (17%). Most of the sex was in women namely 17 patients (56.67%), while the least gender was in men namely 13 patients (43,33%). And the results based on age were mostly in the age range 55-65 years namely 18 patients (60%), while in the 44-55 year age range is 9 patients (30%), and at least the age range 66-76 years, namely 3 patients (10%).
