Abstract

Malaria is a dangerous parasitic disease in the world. World Malaria Report 2015 states that malaria has attacked 106 countries in the world. Malaria is a disease that attacks humans, birds, monkeys and other primates, which is caused by infection with protozoa of the genus Plasmodium and is easily recognized by symptoms of chills (chills and chills) and prolonged fever. The purpose of this study was to describe the prevalence of malaria incidence in West Pasaman Regency based on gender, age, location of examination, residence, type of occupation, type of Plasmodium and classification of transmission. This research was conducted at the health office of West Pasaman Regency from March to July 2019. This type of research is descriptive, and uses a retrospective design. The population used was data on positive malaria patients overnight in 2018 at the West Pasaman Health Office with a total sample data of 131. The results of the study were based on sex, more malaria sufferers were male, as many as 86 people (66%), malaria sufferers more were infected by Plasmodium Vivax, namely 112 people (85%), more malaria sufferers were students, namely 59 people (45%), more malaria sufferers were found in Sungai Aur Public Health Center as many as 85 people (65%), more malaria sufferers contracted by indogenous malaria, namely positive cases of malaria which transmission occurred in the local area, namely as many as 91 people (69%), most malaria sufferers were at the productive age ranging from 15-45 years old as many as 61 people (47%), the most malaria sufferers were in the Aur River area, Bawok Village, as many as 42 people
