Abstract
Stroke is a nerve function disorder that occurs suddenly due to disruption of blood circulation to the brain. In stroke patients who undergo treatment in the hospital, electrolyte disturbances are often found. Chloride is the main anion in extracellular fluid. Chloride is one of the electrolytes in the body and chloride has a role, namely in regulating blood volume. This type of research is a descriptive study which aims to determine the description of chloride levels in stroke patients at RSUD M. Natsir Solok. The sample in this study were 30 patients from part of the population who examined chloride levels. The results of this study indicated that 23.5% male had normal chloride levels, 11.8% increased chloride levels and decreased 64.7% chloride levels. Whereas in women 38.5% of normal chloride levels, 0.0% increased chloride levels and 61.5% decreased chloride levels. In patients aged 35-57 years, it was found that 33% normal chloride levels, 8% increased chloride levels, decreased 59% chloride levels. Meanwhile, patients aged 58-78 years found 28% normal chloride levels, 5% increased chloride levels and 67% decreased chloride levels. Key words: Stroke patients, chloride
