Abstract

Background : Tuberculosis is an infectious disease that is the leading cause of health disorders and one of the 10 leading causes of death from one infectious agent. The discovery of Tuberculosis cases as early as possible is important in efforts to prevent the transmission of the disease so that in order to suppress its transmission, a quick and appropriate diagnosis and treatment is required. Microscopic examination methods are widely used in endemic areas of TB but these methods have some drawbacks. Molecular Fast Test (TCM) is a rapid test method that uses GeneXpert MTB/RIFassay for the diagnosis of TB and catamular to rifampicin antibiotics. Purpose: This study aims to find out the picture of TCM GeneXpert test results in lung Tuberculosis patients at RSU Mayjen H.A Thalib Kerinci. Method : This study uses latitude cutting method by taking data of laboratoriu results GeneXpert examination in lung tuberculosis patients at RSU Mayjen H.A Thalib Kerinci. Results : The results of the study based on the age group of tuberculosis patients examined GeneXpert aged children (<15 tahun) 2 %, productive age (15-50 years) 63 %, and elderly (>50 years) 30 %, Based on the sex of male sex 63 % and female 37 % and Based on the results of MTB examination detected and detected resistance as much as 2 % and MTB detected rifampicin sensitive by 28 %. Conclusion: From 43 data of Tuberculosis suspek patients examined by TCM GeneXpert at RSU Mayjen H.A Thalib Kerinci in February to May 2021, it was concluded that most of the patients were Tuberculosis of productive age (15-50 years), based on the gender of most males, and most of the suspek patients were detected rifampicin sensitive. Keywords : tuberculosis, rifampicin resistance, geneXpert
