Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic non-communicable disease characterized by elevated blood glucose levels due to insulin resistance. Patients diagnosed with DM should always control their blood glucose levels regularly with HbA1c test. This research was conducted at the West Pasaman Hospital with an analytical observational type of research in March - May 2021. The number of samples examined were 30 samples. Examination of blood glucose using the POCT Easy touch with the enzymatic method of glucose oxidase and the examination of HbA1c using the POCT Finecare tool with the fluorocecent immonocromatography method. The normality test of the data used the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and continued with the Pearson Correlation test. The results obtained an average glucose level of 160.9 mg/dL and an average HbA1c level of 7.557%. The results of statistical tests obtained p value = 0.007 so it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between blood glucose levels and HbA1c levels in people with diabetes mellitus.
