Abstract
Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease characterized by high blood glucose levels. This disease results from defects in insulin secretion, insulin action, or both. Blood glucose examination in the laboratory can be used with a chemical analyzer and a point of care test (POCT) tool. The purpose of this study was to determine the difference in the results of blood glucose examination using serum with a chemical analyzer and capillary blood using a point of care test (POCT). Methods: This type of research is analytic observational with a cross sectional approach design where 30 research samples were carried out with two different examination tools at the same time. The data were analyzed using Shapiro-wilk and continued with the dependent sample t-test.
