Abstract

Red blood cells or erythrocytes are the simplest cells in the body. The purpose of the study was to determine the difference in the number of erythrocytes in EDTA blood directly examined and delayed for 3 hours at room temperature. The type of research used is experimental and the design used is cross sectional. The automatic method of measuring the erythrocyte count (RBC) uses the impedance principle. From the normality test that has been carried out, it was found that the value of Sig (2-tailed) = 0.728 for erythrocyte examination data was immediately examined and the value of Sig (2-tailed) = 0.823 for erythrocyte examination data was delayed for 3 hours. The condition of the data normality test is if the significant value is > 0.05, from the results it can be concluded that the data is normally distributed. The data that had been tested for normality were then analyzed using a paired sample t-test parametric test. The results of the t-test obtained the value of Sig. >0.05 with a significance value of 0.903. Based on the statistical calculation, the significant value is > 0.05, so there is no significant difference so that the conclusion from the results of this statistical test is that there is no difference in the results of the number of erythrocytes in blood samples immediately examined and postponed for 3 hours.
