Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is one of the main public health problems in Indonesia. Examination of the platelet count is an indicator of DHF diagnosis. The number of platelets will decrease (thrombocytopenia) due to platelet destruction. This study aims to determine the description of the number of platelets in dengue hemorrhagic fever patients, at the Mayjen HA Thalib General Hospital, Kerinci in December 2020 - February.2021 This type of research is retrospective of 30 people. The results of this study It was found that patients who tested positive for DHF were male and more likely to attack children (<10 years). Based on what is seen, it can be seen that the age group <10 years is an age group categorized as a lot of children and the most in DHF patients with a total of 13 patients, with a percentage of 43.44%. Meanwhile, the group of patients aged 11-20 years was the group suffering from DHF with a total percentage of 13.33%. And in patients aged 21-30 with a percentage of 26.33%. Groups aged 31-40 with a percentage of 10%. And in patients with DHF at the age of 41 - 50 years with a percentage of 6.66%. The vulnerable elderly or at the age of 50 are less likely to find cases to suffer from DHF. Key words: Dengue hemorrhagic fever, platelet count
