Abstract

41. INDRAYATI: 2230282154 ABSTRACT Immunization is closely related to needles. Giving immunization by injection can have an immediate effect, namely pain in children and can cause anxiety in children during visits to health services to get vaccines. To reduce the level of pain and anxiety in children can be provided with non-pharmacological techniques, one of which is the audio-visual distraction technique. The audio- visual distraction technique is an act of diverting the child's attention from pain and anxiety when an injection is performed during immunization. The purpose of this writing is to provide nursing care by applying audio-visual distraction techniques by watching cartoon videos to reduce pain and anxiety in children who have received injection immunizations. The method used was a case study on 3 pediatric patients where the instrument used was the FLACC scale to measure the level of pain in children aged less than 3 years, and used the Baker Wong Faces Scale instrument to measure pain scale in children aged more than 3 years. The level of anxiety in the three pediatric patients was measured using the CFS instrument. The results of measurements in the three patients showed that there was a decrease in the pain scale and anxiety scale. In accordance with these results, it can be concluded that the application of the audio-visual distraction technique by watching cartoon videos can reduce pain and anxiety in children who receive injection immunizations so that this technique can be one of the treatments to reduce pain and anxiety in children.
