Abstract

3. NENY KOESMIRA 1914201316 ABSTRACT The background of health workers as the frontline in providing health services to the community and handling Covid-19 patients, is very at risk of transmission of Covid-19. One of the efforts made to prevent it is to wear complete PPE, which limits communication between nurses and patients compared to normal conditions and has an impact on patient satisfaction. The phenomenon that researchers found in the field was that by using PPE by officers during the Covid-19 pandemic, it limited the movement and communication of officers with patients. This causes patients to feel uncomfortable and dissatisfied with the services provided by officers. The aim of the study was to determine the relationship between nurse therapeutic communication during the Covid-19 pandemic and patient satisfaction. Method. Analytical descriptive research design with cross section. The population is all patients who visit the general polyclinic of the Batu Hampa Health Center, with an average visit of 435 patients per month. The sample is 81 people with accidental sampling. Data were processed and analyzed using the chi-square test. Results: 55.6% univariate analysis stated that the nurse's therapeutic communication was not good and 60.5% were satisfied with services at the general polyclinic during the pandemic. Bivariate results show that there is a relationship between nurse therapeutic communication during the Covid-19 pandemic and patient satisfaction in obtaining nursing services (p=0.031 and OR=3.136). Conclusions and Suggestions: it was concluded that therapeutic communication during a pandemic is related to patient satisfaction. It is hoped that health workers will increase counseling for patients and provide an understanding of the importance of health protocols during Covid-19 and improve health services for patients during Covid-19.
