Abstract

Wound healing is a biological process involving the restoration of the structure and function of damaged tissue. The objective of this study was to determine the effect of administering Fumigasol emulgel in supporting the wound healing process of incision wounds in male white rats (Rattus norvegicus) infected with Candida albicans fungus. The benefit of this research is to identify an effective new treatment for wound healing caused by candidiasis infection. This study employed a quantitative experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD). The results showed that the application of Fumigasol emulgel at various concentrations (1%, 2%, and 3%) was effective in accelerating the healing of incision wounds infected with Candida albicans fungus, compared to the negative control group and positive control group. Data analysis using the Mann-Whitney test revealed significant differences between the treatment group and the control group, but no significant differences were found among the three concentrations of Fumigasol emulgel, indicating that all three have relatively similar efficacy. Based on these results, Fumigasol emulgel retains its potential as a natural topical medication to aid in the healing process of wounds caused by skin candidiasis infections. To support these findings, further research is needed to evaluate the mechanism of action and long-term safety of use.
