Abstract

Increasing life expectancy,the physiologica function of a person will experience a decline in organ function, so that many diseases appear in the elderly. One disease that is often suffered by the elderly is gout. Gout besides causing inflammation in cronic joints causes complications, namely the kidneys, heart, due to the accumulation of uric acid crystal-crystal.Excessive levels of uric acid in the blood causes accumulation of uric acid cristals. The aim of the study was to determine the description of uric acid levels in 40 year old Batu Bagiriak in the Alahan Panjang community health center. This research is descriptive analytic. This research method uses a point of care test (POCT), which is uric acid examination using a rapid test in which the samples were taken at 30 people who were examined for uric acid levels from February to June 2019. Processed using a frequency distribution table. Who get normal uric acid results as many as 18 (60%) and a high 12 (40%).
