Abstract

Mental disorders can be cured through drug therapy (pharmacotherapy) such as antipsychotic drughs can cause some effects to the body if consumend in the long term, among other, can cause effects on the liver. The aim of this study was to look at the picture of AST and ALT enzym activity in psychiatric patients receiving antipsychotic medication treatment. The method used is observation and the data abtained is processed manually and presented in the form of freguency distribution table and pesentage. This research has been done in Maret 2018 in RSJ.Prof.HB. Saanin Padang on 200 pacien. Based on the test that has been done got the result of activity of mean of enzyme AST 42.83 U/L dan ALT 34.75 U/L, it can be concluded that 32% of the increased activity of AST and ALT enzyme in psichiatric patient who received antipsychotic treatment.
