Abstract

Soil Transmitted Helminths is still a public health problem in Indonesia. This is evident because of the high prevalence of worm investment, namely Ascaris lumbricoides, Trichuris trichiura, Ancylostoma duodenale, Necator americanus, Strongyloides stercoralis and other types of worms. Research has been conducted on "Examination of Soil Transmitted Helminths Worm Eggs in 2-5 year olds in Pasir Jambak in 2018". This research was carried out using epidemiological descriptive survey method using direct method examination technique using 2% eosin reagent. The study was carried out in June 2018 at the Padang Pioneer Laboratory. The population in this study were all children aged 2-5 years in Pasir Jambak in 2018, and the sample was 30 children out of the total population. From the results of stool examination that has been done, there were 8 children (26.7%) infected with worms, found roundworms (Ascaris lumbricoides) as many as 6 people (20%), whipworms (Trichuris trichiura) as many as 2 people (6.7%), hookworms (Necator americanus and Ancylostoma duodenale) as many as 0 people (0%), worm infections mixture (Ascaris lumbricoides and Trichuris trichuira) as many as 0 people (0%). Of the 30 stool specimens that had been tested for worm-free children as many as 22 people (73.3%). Keywords: Children aged 2-5 years, Soil Transmitted Helminths, Worm Eggs
