Abstract

Hepatitis B is a world health problem, including Indonesia. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that hepatitis B is the cause of more than 780,000 deaths each year in the world. In Indonesia alone, the results of the Basic Health Research in 2007 showed that the prevalence of hepatitis B was 9.4%. This means that one in 10 Indonesians are infected with Hepatitis B, and only one in five people with hepatitis B in Indonesia is aware that they have this disease. Hepatitis B is an inflammatory process in liver tissue, popularly known as liver disease, lifer disease, or jaundice. Transmission of hepatitis B virus during pregnancy can be a high risk for the fetus to contract a dangerous viral disease. If the mother has hepatitis B, her fetus can be infected with a virus. This study uses a cross sectional study method in third trimester pregnant women. HBsAg is done using the immunocromatography test method. Statistical analysis using frequency. The results of the research from 50 samples taken were 3 people with hepatitis B in the third trimester pregnant women. Has conducted research with the aim to find out the description of HBsAg examination in pregnant women in the third trimester at the UPTD puskesmas base. This study used a sample of 50 pregnant women suspected of being infected with hepatitis B and the population was plasma.
