Abstract

Farming is a job that requires someone to be in a wet place. this causes the farmer's feet to become wet. these conditions are factors that support the growth of fungi. One of the diseases caused by fungi is Tinea pedis. This disease causes the appearance of crusts, skin that is scaly / crusted or blistered, and itching sensation in the infected leg area. Betel leaf contains chemical substances, especially leaf parts such as essential oils which contain chemical compounds such as phenols and their derivative compounds such as kavikol, eugenol, karvacrol and alipyrocatechol. This research is descriptive by means of sampling the feet of farmers affected by the fungus that causes Tinea Pedis in Kenagarian Alahan Panjang, Solok Regency which is planted in agar media and given betel leaf extract (Piper batle l ..). From the results of the research carried out the inhibition test of betel leaf extract (Piper batle l ..) the fungus that causes Tinea pedis, it was found that the most inhibitory power was 80% and 100% with an inhibition zone of 23 and 34 mm in diameter.
