Abstract

Candida albicans can be pathogen when immunity had decreased and physiological function is impaired, such as in diabetes mellitus tipe II. This study aim to isolation Candida albicans that collected from oral cavity of diabetes mellitus tipe II patents. This research is conductedwith descriptive study by observing the presence of Candida albicans in 5 samples of diabetes mellitus tipe II patients, which grow onsaboraoud dextrose agar, the microscopic observation LPCB ragi and gram stain staining of yeast, blastospores, psudohyphae, chlamydospores and germ tubes in serum suspension or plasma that incubated at 37 C FOR 2-3 hours. Based on this research was found and obtained positive patient results from oral mucosal swabs of diabetes mellitus patients as many as one person or a total of 20% while negative results were four people or 80%. Patients from 5 patients were positif or negatif Candida albicans. Keywords : Candida albicans, Diabetes mellitus type II, Oral mucosal swab.
