Abstract

Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers and often causes death in women. Early diagnosis and therapy that is carried out quickly and accurately is the main approach to management in patients with breast cancer. The purpose of this study was to analyze the number of platelets between chemotherapy cycle 1 and cycle 2 in patients with breast cancer at the Arifin Achmad Regional General Hospital, Riau Province. The research design used is analytic with a cross sectional study approach. Sampling in this study was conducted by Accidental Sampling. The research sample was 30 people. The types of data collected are primary data and secondary data. Data analysis was carried out in two stages, namely univariate data analysis and bivariate data analysis. The results of univariate analysis were obtained from 30 respondents, the majority of platelets in cycle 1 chemotherapy were normal, as many as 20 people (66.7%). Cycle 2 chemotherapy platelets showed that the majority of platelets in cycle 2 chemotherapy were abnormal, as many as 16 people (53.3%). Statistical test with paired sample t test obtained p-value 0.000 which means p-value < which means that there is an effect of Platelet Count Between Chemotherapy Cycle 1 and Cycle 2 in Cancer Mamae Patients at Arifin Achmad Regional General Hospital, Riau Province. Suggestions are expected that Arifin Achmad Hospital can add insight and information about the Analysis of Platelet Count Between Chemotherapy Cycle 1 and Cycle 2 in Cancer Mamae Patients and for the public to be able to carry out platelet checks routinely through MCU.
