Abstract

Covid-19 (Coronavirus Disease 2019) is a respiratory infection caused by a new Coronavirus that first appeared in Wuhan, China in December 2019. In Covid-19 patients, blood clots often occur which is one of the complications experienced, to ensure this The follow-up examination was carried out by counting the number of platelets. The purpose of this study was to determine the difference in the number of platelets in confirmed Covid-19 and non-Covid-19 patients. This study is an observational study with a cross sectional design. The sample in this study was 60 people. In this study, the platelet count was examined in patients with confirmed Covid-19 and non-Covid-19 using the Dymind Hematology Analyzer with the Volumetic Analyzer method. From the examination of the platelet count carried out, it was found that the average was 294333.33µl confirmed patients and non-Covid patients 240266.67/µl, from the average there were different results. Based on statistical results using the Dependent T Test, significant results were obtained, namely 0.006 <0.05, it can be concluded that there is a difference in the number of platelets in confirmed patients and non-Covid-19 patients.
