Abstract

5. HERNI FATRI : 1914201318 ABSTRACT Clients with mental disorders need family support in the form of reward support, informational support, instrumental support, emotional support by showing that someone is loved and cared for, valued, and respected, and is involved in communication networks and reciprocal obligations. Clients with mental disorders often pay less attention to self-care. Purpose: the study was to determine the relationship between family support and the level of ADL independence in clients with mental disorders in the work area of the UPTD Puskesmas Suliki in 2020. Methods: This study was a descriptive correlation study with a cross sectional approach. The study population was 104 clients with severe mental disorders using the Slovin formula technique in taking the sample, namely 83 clients with mental disorders, in practice using probability sampilng techniques; simple random sampling, and conducting direct interviews with respondents with a research questionnaire guide. Results and Conclusions: Family support for clients with mental disorders in the work area of the UPTD Puskesmas Suliki is mostly good. The independence of clients with mental disorders in the work area of the UPTD Puskesmas Suliki is mostly independent, and there is a relationship between family support and the level of independence for clients with mental disorders in the work area of the UPTD Puskesmas Suliki, so it is better if families continue to provide support so that the level of independence of clients with mental disorders can be maintained Keywords: family support, independence, mental disorders clients Literature source: 29 bibliographies (2007-2020)
