Abstract
Adolescents are an important age group in the phase of human development, where the nutritional needs of adolescents are different from those of children or adults. Nutrition issues, including low consumption of vegetables and fruits, pose a significant global health challenge, according to data from the World Health Organization (WHO). Lack of fruit and vegetable consumption can increase the risk of developing various chronic diseases, such as obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and some types of cancer in adulthood. This study aims to determine the description of knowledge, attitudes and consumption of vegetables and fruits in adolescents from BLT and non-BLT recipient families in Muara Belengo Village in 2024. This research was conducted on adolescents in Muaro Belengo village using a descriptive survey method. The population of this study is adolescents from BLT recipient families and adolescents from non-BLT recipient families totaling 120 respondents. The number of samples was 54, sampling was done using the lameshow formula of simple random sampling technique, knowledge data was obtained using a questionnaire containing 24 questions and attitudes of 25 questions. Data on vegetable and fruit consumption were obtained using the semi-quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire (SQFFQ). The data analysis used is univariate data analysis. The results of this study showed that respondents had a low level of knowledge about vegetable and fruit consumption (81.5%). Respondents' attitude towards positive consumption of vegetables and fruits (74.1%). Respondents consume less vegetables and fruits (88.9%). It is recommended that the Government should design a special nutrition program for BLT recipient families, focusing on healthy diet education and increasing accessibility to fruits and vegetables.
