Abstract
Iron (Fe) has a toxic impact on humans if the dose or amount is too excessive in the body. The high content (Fe) will have an impact on health, including causing poisoning (vomiting), intestinal damage, kidney damage/renal dysfunction, and impaired absorption of vitamins and minerals. Renal dysfunction results in reduced creatinine filtration ability and increased serum creatinine. The aim of this study was to analyze the relationship between Fe and creatinine levels in the blood of male white rats (Rattus novergicus). The benefit of this research is to find out that essential heavy metals which are present in certain amounts are really needed by the body, but kidney health can be disrupted if exposed to excessive levels of heavy metals (Fe) and can cause toxic effects. The method in this research uses experimental laboratory research (true experiment) with a Post Test Only Control Group Design research design, namely that the researchers both carry out examinations on the control group and the sample or experimental group, but only the experimental group receives treatment. The results of this study showed that creatinine levels in the blood of male white rats (Rattus novergicus) increased after administering doses (Fe) of 0.54 and 1.08 mg at 7 days and 14 days, but these levels were still within the normal range, normal values for creatinine levels serum in male white mice is 0.7-1.3 mg/dl. With the conclusion that there is no relationship between Fe and creatinine levels in the blood of male white rats (Rattus novergicus).
