Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is an infectious disease caused by dengue virus infection transmitted through the bite of the Aedes aegypti mosquito. One of the laboratory parameters used to diagnose DHF is thrombocytopenia, which is a platelet count ≤100,000 cells/mm³. Patients diagnosed as suspected DHF often show a drastic decrease in platelets, which worsens the patient's health status if appropriate medical intervention is not carried out immediately. This study aims to see the description of the number of Platelets in patients suspected of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever based on the duration of the fever. This type of research is Descriptive, conducted in February-July 2025 at the Padang Panjang City Hospital with a sample of 30 patients. The sample taken was the total population of DHF patients at Padang Panjang City Hospital in 2025. Based on the results of the study, it is known that the frequency distribution of platelet images on day 3 was all respondents with thrombocytopenia as many as 30 respondents (100.0%), on day 4 all respondents with thrombocytopenia as many as 30 respondents (100.0%), on day 5 most of the platelet levels with thrombocytopenia as many as 29 respondents (96.7%), on day 6 most of the platelet levels with thrombocytopenia as many as 23 respondents (76.7%) and on day 7 most of the platelet levels with normal as many as 17 respondents (56.7%).
