Abstract
The use of medicinal plants as an alternative for wound healing continues to be developed, one of which is the dahlia tuber (Dahlia variabilis), known to contain bioactive compounds such as alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, and tannins. This study aims to determine the effect of endophytic fungal extract from dahlia tubers on wound healing in white rats (Rattus norvegicus) by analyzing hemoglobin levels and erythrocyte counts during the wound healing phase. The research was conducted experimentally using a post-test only control group design. The results showed that dahlia tuber extract has therapeutic potential in accelerating wound healing through increased hemoglobin and erythrocyte levels. The 10% extract concentration provided the most optimal effect in restoring both parameters to normal levels. This highlights the role of active compounds in supporting physiological wound healing mechanisms. To strengthen these findings, future studies are recommended to include molecular parameters such as gene or protein expression related to erythropoiesis and tissue regeneration during the wound healing process.
