Abstract
Background infection due to Klebsiella pneumoniae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria is a serious problem in the health sector, especially because both are included in a group of bacteria that have a high level of resistance to various antibiotics. This research method aims to evaluate the antibacterial activity of fumigasol emulgel formulated with various concentrations against these two types of bacteria. The activity test was carried out using the well diffusion method, by measuring the diameter of the inhibition zone as an indicator of effectiveness. The results analyzed using the SPSS program showed that fumigasol emulgel with formulation F 1 had the highest inhibition of 21,25 mm againts Pseudomonas aeruginosa, while F 4 showed the highest activity againts Klebsiella pneumoniae with an inhibition zone diameter of 23.45 mm, These findings indicate that the antibacterial effectiveness of fumigasol emulgel is influenced by the formulation concentration and the type of target bacteria. Thus, fumigasol emulgel has the potential to be developed as an alternative topical preparation to treat infections caused by these two bacteria.
