Abstract
Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease associated with deficiency or insulin resistance either relative or absolute which is characterized dy carbohydrate, fat and protein metabolism disorders. Examination performed on the patient diabetes mellitus is the examination of blood glucose levels. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a statistically significant difference between the results of fasting blood glucose examination by using glucose method and hexokinase method in the patient in the RSUD Lubuk Sikaping Kab. Pasaman. After fasting glucose with both methods were analyzed by kolmogorof-smirnov test obtained fasting glucose value by using glucose oxidase method p=0,976 (p>0,05) and hexokinase method obtained p=0,992 (p>0,05). It shows that the examination data of fasting glucose bu using these two enzymatic methods has a normal distribution which can then be tested with t value. From result of t test value got value p=0,705. It is in accordance with acceptance criterion Ho that Ho accepted if p=obtained>0,05 and Ha accepted if p<0,05. Thus, in this study Ho accepted because p value obtained 0,705(p>0,05). Therefore, it can be concluted that there is no significant difference between fasting glucose examination by using glucose oxidase method and method heksokinase method in diabetes melitus patients in RSUD Lubuk Sikaping. Keyword : Blood glucose, Glucose oxidase method, Method heksokinase
